A Lafayette gentleman was arrested Friday in relationship with a dwelling improvement fraud scenario out of St. Landry Parish.
The Sheriff’s Business office states that 48-12 months-previous Albert George Johnson was arrested pursuing an investigation that began in February 2020.
According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, Detectives were notified on February 23, 2020 to a household contractor fraud incident.
On even more investigation, it was decided that the target allegedly entered into a contractual settlement with Johnson, who is identified as the operator of Alliance Covenant Painting, LLC.
The target instructed deputies that Johnson experienced allegedly agreed to rework the victim’s home and obtained an preliminary payment on September 21, 2019. The rework commenced the future working day. Deputies say Johnson ongoing to acquire payment for labor and product from the victim but only sporadically worked at the victim’s home.
Johnson last worked at the home on December 20, 2019 and did not total the transform.
The total total the sufferer paid to Johnson was $14,200, which provided content and labor for the reworking job.
