A California gentleman is lucky to be alive soon after shooting a bear who managed to crack into his household and attack him.

The incident transpired at close to 10:39 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, in Meyers, California — a town about 100 miles east of Sacramento — when the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Division obtained a report from a gentleman saying that he was attacked within of his individual residence by a bear and that he had to shoot the animal out of self-defense.

The sheriff reported that the bear fled from the residence and ran back out into the wilderness right after it was shot but, even with indications that the bear was bleeding, it could not be instantly located until finally the adhering to early morning.
