The $2.5 million renovation of Larkspur’s historic Lark Theater is wrapping up this week after a year of delays, rising costs and partial openings.
The 82-year-old theater at 549 Magnolia Ave. received a complete facelift but remains true to its art-deco style.
Interior work includes a new lobby, concessions area, seating, lighting and an added adjustable stage for live events. New showcase windows, marquee lighting and upgraded box office also were added.
A reopening celebration is set for 5 p.m. Thursday and will feature wine and hors d’oeuvres, live music, theater tours and a ceremony.
A broadcast screening of the musical concert “Ball and Boe,” featuring acts Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, also is planned.
The event coincides with the Left Bank’s Bastille Day celebration on Magnolia Avenue. Tickets for the screening are $12 to $24. More information is at bit.ly/3aqBuqh.
