Actress, best-selling author, advocate, and The Honest Company lifestyle entrepreneur Jessica Alba will soon add another title to her resume as host and executive producer of The Roku Channel’s Honest Renovations. Alba will co-host with model and actress-turned The Cool Mom Co. founder Lizzy Mathis. The new entry in the home improvement genre features a fun and heartwarming twist, as well-deserving families receive a lifestyle makeover, the renovation of their dreams, and tips on navigating the uncharted waters of new parenthood.

A topic close to the hearts of Alba and Mathis (both are working entrepreneurial women and mothers of three children), they are no strangers when it comes to sharing parenting advice. Mathis writes a lifestyle blog on the subject, while Alba’s website tackles everything from diaper rash to organic baby clothes. As for the design aspect, we know Alba has a good eye. After all, she hired Clements Design to create an earthy yet elegant home for her family which AD toured back in 2019.

“Becoming a parent was exciting, scary, and confusing all at once. Parenthood is the most transformative life experience, and no matter how much you think you’re prepared; you never really are. I can’t wait to share the stories of the special families and their incredible home renovations with viewers on The Roku Channel,” said Alba in a release. Mathis concurs, noting, “Parenthood turned my world upside down-it filled my cup with so much love and at the same time, tested my patience in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It’s a uniting experience every parent can relate to.”

Filmed in California, the show will focus on the set-up and design for nurseries and playrooms while advocating the importance of young couples taking time for themselves and adjusting to the pressures of bringing a new baby into their lives.

The eight-part one-hour series House Renovations begins filming later this year.
